Alexander Skarsgard and Cara Delevingne have climbed aboard Ben Briand’s new, embryonic project Fever Heart, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Pitched as a gothic thriller that mixes elements of a traditional road movie, Briand hatched the screenplay with co-writer Kevin W. Koehler, one that orbits around an “amnesiac (Skarsgard) who teams up with a quick-witted circus sharp shooter (Delevingne) to uncover his lost memories. With a charming and malevolent tracker named Blood Lieberman in violent pursuit, the pair needs to learn to trust each other if they are going to survive this strange land stained with mysticism.”
With tinges of the supernatural peppered across Fever Heart, Briand’s project immediatley piques our curiosity, and the casting of Skarsgard and Delevingne lends the movie a strong foundation before production commences in 2017. Truth be told, both stars enjoyed relatively mixed forays into summer blockbuster territory earlier this year courtesy of The Legend of Tarzan and Suicide Squad, with neither hitting the box office heights Warner Bros. would have hoped. Fever Heart has all the makings of a more character-drive affair, though, and we’re intrigued to see how both actors take to Briand’s dark material.
Next up for Delevingne is a trip to Luc Besson’s Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. Look for that one to open on July 21. Alexander Skarsgard, meanwhile, will soon be seen in crime thriller War on Everyone, before plotting course for the Berlin of the future via Duncan Jones’ Mute. The latter is already deep in production.
