It’s been over a year since Ultra Music Festival Co-Founder Alex Omes was found dead at age 43 in his Biscayne Boulevard loft in Miami, Florida the day before his case against his former business partner, Russell Faibisch, was set to begin. Now, new autopsy results are revealing that Omes had taken several drugs before his untimely death.
While the official cause of Omes’ death has yet to be determined, toxicology reports confirm that he had amphetamines, cocaine, ketamine and trace amounts of GHB in his system at the time of his passing. The autopsy uncovered that Omes had an enlarged heart and liver at the time of his passing as well. Cocaine had been found in his loft at the time of his death, but investigators have not ruled out foul play.
Omes had waged a legal battle on Faibisch over equity in Ultra Music Festival that many of his close friends and business partners assert was unfairly taken from him as the result of secret negotiations. His estate is overseen by his brother, whom continued the legal proceedings on his behalf until the court ruled in their favor – a decision which is currently being appealed by Faibisch.
With Ultra Music Festival right around the corner, it stands to reason that any further developments in regards to the death of Alex Omes will quickly find their way to the public.
